Tiberio Ezquerra Sanz es natural de Zaragoza en cuya universidad obtuvo el grado de licenciado en Ciencias Físicas en 1982. Realizó su tesis doctoral en el Instituto de Estructura de la Materia, CSIC, Madrid en 1986 y posteriormente estuvo un periodo de dos años en el Max-Planck-Institut für Polymerforschung de Mainz (Alemania). Desde 1988 es Colaborador Científico del CSIC.En abril de 2009 fue promovido a Profesor de Investigación del CSIC.Desde 1996 hasta 2009 ha sido jefe del departamento de Física Macromolecular del Instituto de Estructura de la Materia. De Septiembre de 2009 a Octubre de 2021 ha sido Vicedirector y desde Octubre de 2021 es Director del Instituto de Estructura de la Materia. Ha sido científico visitante en el Institut für Makromolekulare Chemie en la Universidad de Hamburgo (Alemania) y en el Department Material Science and Engineering de la Universidad de Utah (USA).
